ENTER THE MATRIX
On the Cutting Edge: A nontraditional fabricator invests in exclusive North American automation to grow its customer base.

The new VZ Mitsubishi laser center is the only one of its kind in North America. It brings cutting parameters of 122 in X-axis, 87 in Y-axis, and 33 in Z-axis. Pallet changes only take 60 sec
The increased range of cutting parameters enables Matrix to process larger components without having to perform multiple setups.

Matrix Metalcraft, Inc. (Clinton Township, MI) continuously looks to incorporate the equipment and technology that will keep its customer base successful and growing. In order to keep continuous success at the forefront, Matrix recently purchased a high-performance VZ1 Mitsubishi Laser with a pallet changer, maximizing process time and increasing capacity. This new laser center is the only one of its kind in North America.

The company's new VZ Mitsubishi Laser cutting machine brings new capabilities relating to speed, accuracy and flexibility for a wide range of complex laser applications. The cutting parameters measure 122 in X-axis, 87 in Y-axis, and 33 in Z-axis. Integration of a pallet changer allows for jobs to be set up while the machine is processing its current job. Additionally, pallet changes only take 60 sec, optimizing cut time and giving Matrix more capacity to branch into new markets.

"Our goal is to remain cost effective for our customers while delivering the highest quality and quicker turnaround. Mitsubishi Laser helps us meet increasing customer demands and provides us the opportunity to expand our customer base into newer industries, particularly, aerospace and defense," explains Matrix Sales Director Ryan Willette. "With the increased range of cutting parameters, we are now able to process larger components without having to perform multiple set ups."

Matrix specializes in prototype and short-run production work, offering metal stamping, 3 and 5 axis laser cutting, machining, turning, and assembly capabilities.
