Hardinge Inc. (Elmira, NY) is expanding its spectrum of turning centers by introducing the Hardinge-designed and -built GS 150, GS 200, GS 200/66 and GS 250 machines. Positioned in the center of the company's turning center portfolio (above the SV-Series and below the SR-Series), the all-new GS-Series offers users an exceptional combination of performance features for speed, power, accuracy and durability in a compact design.
Also available in "long bed" models, GS-Series machines are based on the popular and proven Talent ® CNC turning center platform. These rigid machines feature a robust one-piece cast iron slant bed base, heavy-duty linear guideways and ballscrews, and many standard performance enhancing features—heavy-duty dual-wound spindle motor (with up to 6,000 rpm speeds), 3-jaw chuck, 12-station universal VDI top plate, 40 psi through-tool and headwall coolant, foot switch, chip conveyor interface, and a swing-out CNC control panel for ease of operation to name a few. C-axis/live tooling and fully-programmable tailstocks are offered.
GS-Series turning centers are loaded with performance features that often are available only as options by other machine builders. These include:
